Good Music!

The HELLERAU music format Bandstand has established itself as Dresden’s largest annual indoor festival of the local band scene, taking place in February, and is a fixed date for music lovers and night owls from Dresden and the surrounding area. Dresden based solo musicians from the areas of pop/rock/jazz could apply with their stage programme or were suggested and selected by HELLERAU in cooperation with local organisers such as Groove Station, Jazzclub Tonne or Ostpol. Together with a varied artistic supporting programme, established artists presented current projects and younger bands gained valuable performance experience.

In 2021 the successful format will open up to new media, new audiences and new horizons beyond the Elbe slopes. The audience can expect two evenings of live music on the big stage, a renaissance of the music video and the legendary Sky Bar. In addition to a new residency programme in cooperation with Musicboard Berlin, HELLERAU offers bands and solo artists based in Saxony the opportunity to perform in front of an audience on one evening at Bandstand 2021 (12./13.02.2021) on stage in the Great Hall of the Festspielhaus.
