My current HELLERAU Card expires before 01.09.2024. What happens next?

As long as your (old) HELLERAU Card is still valid, you can use it as usual in the webshop, at the Visitor Center and at the box office until its expiry date and continue to receive a 50% discount on the purchase price. After that it expires automatically. Advance sales for the 2024/25 season start on 17.06.2024, i.e. you can still buy tickets for the new season with your old HELLERAU Card. However, it is not possible to exchange it for a new model. To take advantage of a new HELLERAU Card from the 2024/25 season, please purchase a new HELLERAU Card.

I just bought my current HELLERAU Card this season in the period September 2023 to June 2024 and would like to exchange it for a HELLERAU Card Basic (25% discount) or HELLERAU Card Plus (50% discount). How do I do this? 

• To exchange your current card for one of these models, please use the feedback form or contact the visitor center. Depending on the model you want, you can then pay the surcharge/differential amount in cash, by card or by invoice. You can also have the difference debited from your account via SEPA direct debit mandate.
• The HELLERAU Card Basic and HELLERAU Card Plus are only available as subscriptions and are automatically renewed for a further season unless they are canceled by April 30. To do this, we ask you to issue a direct debit authorization via SEPA direct debit procedure. Please enclose the original, completed form with the re-registration form.
• After payment, your new HELLERAU Card will be activated for the new season and you can use it as usual under the new conditions. You will also receive your HELLERAU Card in a new stylish design.

I only bought my current HELLERAU Card this season in the period September 2023 to June 2024 and would like to exchange it for a HELLERAU Card Premium (100% discount). How do I do this?

To exchange your current card for the HELLERAU Card Premium, please use the re-registration form or contact the Visitor Center. You then pay the difference in cash, by card or invoice. After payment, your new HELLERAU Card will be activated for the new season and you can use it as usual at the new conditions in the webshop, at the Visitor Center and at the box office. You will also receive your HELLERAU Card in a new stylish design. With the HELLERAU Card Premium, you receive free admission to all HELLERAU events for the duration of the season, but a ticket reservation is still required.  

How is the difference calculated?

• If you would like to switch to a new HELLERAU Card model, the difference depends on when and at what price (full or reduced) you purchased your previous HELLERAU Card. The surcharge payment for the transition period thus enables you to hold a valid HELLERAU Card for a total period of at least 19 months.
• If you purchased your current HELLERAU Card in full between 01.09. – 31.12.2023 and would like to use a HELLERAU Card Basic in future: Then you will only pay half the price of your current card, i.e. €12.50. If you purchased your current HELLERAU Card in full between 01.09. – 31.12.2023 and would like to use a HELLERAU Card Plus in the future: Then you will pay €4.00 plus half the price of your current card €12.50 – i.e. a total of €16.50.
• If you purchased your current HELLERAU Card in full between 01.09. – 31.12.2023 and would like to use a HELLERAU Card Premium in the future: Then you will pay € 224.00 plus half the price of your current card € 12.50 – i.e. a total of € 236.50.
• If you purchased your current HELLERAU Card between 01.01. – 31.07.2024, you only have to pay the difference (surcharge) to the desired model.

When am I eligible for a discounted HELLERAU Card? 

Children up to the age of 14, school pupils, students, trainees, volunteers (Federal Voluntary Service / Voluntary Social Year / Voluntary Military Service), holders of social passes from German municipalities / the Dresden Pass, holders of the Dresden Volunteer Pass, as well as severely disabled people from 80 percent (GdB) and people up to the age of 25 receive a reduced HELLERAU Card. Holders of the Dresden Pass receive the HELLERAU Card Plus at the low price of €9.

I just bought my current HELLERAU Card this season and don’t want a new HELLERAU Card. What do I have to do?

Your (old) HELLERAU Card remains valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. After that it expires automatically. You don’t have to do anything else, you can use your HELLERAU Card as usual in the webshop, in the Visitor Center and at the box office until the expiration date and continue to receive a 50% discount on the purchase price. We will be happy to advise you at the Visitor Center to help you find the right model for you.

What is the difference to the old HELLERAU Cards?

• With the new models, you can decide for yourself which HELLERAU Card suits your personal needs. Holders of the HELLERAU Card Basic, Plus and Premium receive a right of first refusal before the official start of advance sales, are entitled to participate in special sales promotions and receive exclusive invitations to special events and packages. With the HELLERAU Card 4Students, students can now also purchase last-minute tickets at the box office 10 minutes before the start of the event at a price of €6, provided tickets are still available.
• Holders of the HELLERAU Card Basic and Plus no longer have to worry about payment; we automatically collect the amount via Sepa direct debit.
• From the 2024/25 season, the HELLERAU Cards purchased will no longer be valid for 1 year from the date of purchase, as was previously the case, but will be valid for the duration of the season, i.e. you will get the greatest benefit if you buy the HELLERAU Card directly at the beginning of a season. If, on the other hand, you only buy a HELLERAU Card in January, you can only use it until the end of the respective season on 31 July. An early purchase is therefore the best option.

I’m interested in a new model, but don’t know exactly which model suits me?

For our frequent visitors, the HELLERAU Card Plus is often worthwhile. With it, you can experience our program from the 3rd purchase in the best price category (€ 29/19) for only half the regular price. If you enjoy our program every weekend and don’t feel like paying again and again, the HELLERAU Card Premium is worthwhile for you. From the 9th visit in our best price category (€ 29/19), you can enjoy our most outstanding guest performances free of charge.
