BBWCXR: Finding Digital Me Workshop
A foundation course in 3D scanning to find new identities using found objects
Our everyday life is surrounded by numerous objects, artefacts, creatures, remnants and even people in urban spaces that we overlook, passing by without too much attention. We want to uncover their individual beauty and explore how we can transform them into digital 3D sculptures or creatures.
Within the context of the Black Box White Cube XR Symposium the workshop involves conceptual discussions within the group regarding identity perspectives on 3D development followed by physically scavenging urban artefacts and visualising them in a digital space. We are using LIDAR scanning (mobile-based 3D scanning system) to create digital twins of real objects. The output will be presented in form of a moving image.
No previous 3D knowledge is required. There will be a hand full of Ipads provided for the workshop, if possible, participants can bring their own mobile device if it has a Lidar-Scanner and Scaniverse installed.
Language: English (German translation possible)
Accessibility: The workshop will be held in a non-wheelchair accessible room
