Workshop: Strategies of Memory

Recently there have been more and more demands that “we have to come to an end with the memory of the Shoa”. There is talk about the “cult of guilt”. That this cannot be the case is evident for people who are active in remembrance work – whether as researchers or as educators. But why do we actually do this work? In this event, the participants will first deal with the question of what democratic politics of remembrance is and should be. In a second step, the event informs how the New Right plans and wants to implement the “attack on memory”.
