SpotShotBeuys
Silke Grabinger
Exactly fifty years ago, the performance artist Joseph Beuys flew to New York, had himself driven from the airport to the René Block Gallery in an ambulance and spent three days and three nights in a cage together with a coyote. In SPOTSHOTBEUYS, contemporary dancer Silke Grabinger responds to this performance entitled I Like America, and America Likes Me with an update in which technology comes up trumps as second nature. She spends 120 minutes in an installation with the robot dog model “Spot” from Boston Dynamics. The central question of this confrontation between man and machine is: who is taming whom?
