Saxony Edition
The cultural and creative industry association WIR GESTALTEN DRESDEN and the film production company ravir film will be presenting Saxon music videos on a big screen with booming basses.
When music and film makers collaborate, it results in high-quality works of art with a special entertainment value. Musical arrangements come together to form new compositions on a visual level, while cinematography and directing create audiovisual poetry.
Numerous sensational music-moving image combinations are produced in Saxony. The five-member jury will select music videos of all genres from the submissions to the Open Call. Dresden music publisher Anika Jankowski (“Oh, my music!”) will host the visually and sonically powerful evening with live performances by rappers Joca and Tinted House. They dare to experiment and perform live to their music videos “Knowledge” and “Sweet Cyclone”.
This format is a cooperation between WIR GESTALTEN DRESDEN and ravir film. In two editions with a focus on Dresden bands and film production companies, over 80 music videos were collected via open calls and a selection presented at Dresden’s Chemiefabrik club. The jury consists of Judith Beckedorf (Music S Women*), Philipp Demankowski (Filmverband Sachsen), Isabel Schieck (KREATIVES SACHSEN and POP IMPULS), Dorit Jeßner (WGD/ravir film) and Greta Markurt (HELLERAU/Filmfest Dresden).
