Companhia Suave repeatedly explores the connections between urban and popular dances in Brazil within their artistic practice. They ask themselves: What voices do these dances speak? What can be expressed through them? In their current piece “Zona Franca”, they also work with elements of contact dance, theater, vocal research, Afro-dances, Afrohouse, Sabala, Tiktok and dances from the north and northeast of Brazil, such as Pisadinha and Brega Funk.
