23.11.–07.12.2024: Tanzformen. Empowering Bodies
The ‘Tanzformen’ series shows in a special way that dance can be shaped according to the cultural background, biographies or circumstances of the artists and is a means of expressing inner states and establishing communication with each other and the audience. HELLERAU will continue the series on three weekends in November and December 2024 under the title ‘Empowering Bodies’. Artistic works will be presented that have an inherent power of resistance – a rebellion against social or political grievances caused by a longing for self-determination. The choreographers’ artistic works convey their very own, individual body images, group choreographies and spatial constellations that use the power of dance to imagine utopian worlds – against instrumentalisation and for autonomy. The artistic programme is accompanied by workshops, talks, film and music.
