Contre-nature

Compagnie de Chaillot & Rachid Ouramdane

2024/25 Große Stücke Tanz Kulturpass

The French choreographer and artistic director of the Chaillot-Théâtre national de la Danse in Paris, Rachid Ouramdane, develops a new formal language between acrobatics and dance with his choreographic works. Driven by the question of what shapes us, Ouramdane and ten dancers and acrobats embark on a journey into the inner self. He evokes childhood, aging and questions “how we continue to move forward, inhabited by other people we no longer have around us, these ghosts that accompany us”. “Contre-nature” is about the relationship to these inner landscapes of past and present and reflects on how memory seems to be engraved in every gesture. Immersed in a dense sea of fog, the ten performers meet on stage, interweaving their movements and different styles, shifting lightly between the air and the ground.
