LEIER 2

Emily Yabe

2024/25 DTzM Musik

Lyres, like harps, are the oldest musical instruments with several strings known from illustrations. While numerous new compositions have been written for the harp, the lyre has yet to play a role in contemporary music. In a first concert, Emily Yabe, together with Martin Tobiassen and Yuri Matsuzaki, will present ‘Herdecker Eurythmie’, composed by György Kurtág in 1979, and in a night concert ‘Seven Silences’ (2021) by Christian Giersch as well as a world premiere by Torsten Reitz.

Duration: ca. 40 min.
