Tischgesellschaft: „Wieder da!“ Vol. 3

Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft (DE)

Tanz Gespräch online

Participate in a recurring dialogue in several episodes on the sharing of knowledge and resources with cultural workers and spectators!

In order to explore the economies and principles of sustainability and sharing from an artistic point of view, Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft in cooperation with HELLERAU – Europäisches Zentrum der Künste Dresden organizes a multi-part (online) dialogue platform since 22.01.2021: the table society “Wieder da!”. “Wieder da!” focuses on re-performance and opens the dialogue between national artists:inside, sociologists:inside, philosophers:inside, archivists:inside and spectators:inside.

How does reuse work? In the spirit of sustainability as a repetitive and re-purposing practice, the Table Companion:s invite viewers to their multi-part online program: since January 2021, they have been hosting viewer:s conversations in the form of speaking engagements, recording their own discussions, putting them up for disposition, and interrogating the resources of art. To what extent are they reusable? What is the function of waste in art? What produces repetition? What does re-performance have to do with sustainability? For whom does one re-perform something?

Since the table companions of “Wieder da!” cannot meet at HELLERAU or any other location due to the pandemic, they have moved their exchange of several months to the digital realm and are now sharing their discourses, practices and approaches to the topic of reuse with the audience online. To this end, they are gradually uploading various podcasts, videos, and audio walks and hosting live talk sessions to discuss – depending on individual expertise – various issues in smaller groups.

The last episode will take place on April 10, 2021.

Program

The last episode of the table society “Back again!” is about the question of what the use of discarded, preserved, archived materials reproduces and consequently also produces. For this, the Tischgesellschaft members post their recorded Zoom debates online and continue the conversation in live talk sessions to share their approaches with visitors!

Archives: What do they share, with whom and how?

Eight performing arts tabletop ambassadors met in digital space to talk about the archive as an artistic practice and speculate about what it should share, communicate, and recycle.

A roundtable discussion with: Antje Pfundtner in company (Anne Kersting, Jana Lüthje, Antje Pfundtner) Christina Ciupke (performer and choreographer), Dr. Henning Fülle (dramaturg, cultural researcher, founder of “Performing the Archive”), Andrea Keiz (video artist and documentarian), Barbara Lubich (freelance filmmaker), Prof. Dr. Patrick Primavesi (Professor of Theater Studies Leipzig and Director of the Tanzarchiv Leipzig e.V.).

What do you share and what don’t you share?

Because they like to share answers, the Tischgesellschafter:innen have been meeting every now and then in the mornings for a question round in the digital space.

Talk Round Sustainability as an Artistic Resource and Cultural Policy Task

Representatives from cultural politics, the independent art scene and the production house meet for a joint discussion on the necessity of sustainable practice in artistic work. What wishes, constraints and tasks are derived from this necessity? We want to get away from higher, further, faster, but how? Which models of sustainable artistic work are conceivable and which of them are practicable?

The various actors question each other’s specific structures and scope for action. The conversations will be conducted in different constellations. The recording of this conversation will be made available online. Participants are:

Antje Pfundtner, choreographer, dancer and artistic director of Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft | Barbara Lubich, filmmaker, sociologist and historian | Romy Weyrauch, freelance theater maker, part of the artistic direction of the collective theatrale subversion | Annekatrin Klepsch, Mayor of Culture Dresden | Carena Schlewitt, Artistic Director HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts Dresden

Moderation: Wolfram Sander, Program Director Theater and Dance HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts Dresden

How does re-performance work? In the spirit of sustainability as a repeating and passing-on practice, Tischgesellschaftler:innen invites you to join their multi-part online program: Through April 10, 2021, they are hosting audience:in conversations in the form of speaking engagements, recording their own discussions, putting them up for disposition, and interrogating the resources of art. In a film documentary, as well as numerous interviews, she shared her work process of reappropriation and recontactualization, which lasted several weeks, with the visitors:inside of the table society “Wieder da!”.

Since the “Wieder da!” table society members cannot meet at HELLERAU or elsewhere due to the pandemic, they have shifted their exchange to the digital and share their discourses and practices online.
