“Woman with Automaton” is a deeply autobiographical drama that depicts different identities of a woman: Wife, mother, lover, victim, fury. The text is based on the experiences of the authors, who grew up in the 1990s after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and deals with the question of what it means to be a woman. In “Woman with Automaton,” Aksana Haiko and her artistic team combine different theatrical genres: opera, stand-up, puppet theater, physical and documentary theater. The performance will be accompanied live by Olga Podgaiskaya, one of the most famous Belarusian composers.
Aksana Haiko is a director, actress, arts manager, playwright, theater educator. She is the founder of the Kryly Khalopa Theater in Brest and the KX Space cultural center.
