WALLED UNWALLED

Lawrence Abu Hamdan (LBN)

Installation

Slowly and incessantly, Lawrence Abu Hamdan seduces viewers into the world of his research, into a world of deep interdependencies of tones and sound with complex political contexts. Can a  sound be stopped by boundaries and does every thought find its listeners? The historical sound effects studio in East Berlin’s Nalepastraße is the setting for Abu Hamdan’s essayistic analysis of the sound permeability of walls and fences, the acoustic boundaries of spaces.
