PORTRAITS HELLERAU Photography Award 2021

Opening of Residence Award Winners Exhibition

Ausstellung

The 2021 Hellerau PORTRAITS Residency Award winner is Natalia Kepesz. Her award-winning photo series “Niewybuch” (roughly: ‘Dud’) deals with the psychological and emotional effects that the increasingly popular military summer camps in our neighboring country Poland have on the participating children. It will be on view at the Festspielhaus side by side with her predecessor Agata Wieczorek’s series “Fetish of the Image,” which was exhibited only briefly last year until the first COVID lockdown paralyzed cultural life. So it’s all the nicer that the Polish artists will both be able to be present in person at the vernissage of the double exhibition on June 18 and provide information about their work before they subsequently embark on their residencies and work on new works at HELLERAU.

All 26 photo series of the final round of the PORTRAITS – Hellerau Photography Award 2021 will be on display at the Technische Sammlungen Dresden until early autumn and can be visited online in parallel.
