Opening of the Room for Encounter „PLAY!
by Helene Immel & Alina Lucifero
In this interactive meeting space, visitors of all ages can relax and chat with others under the colourful lights and glittering shadows of a large mobile. Or they can awaken their own playful instinct and dress up and transform themselves with the help of modular costume pieces:
Suddenly the arm is so long that you can wrap yourself up in it. A plant made of pink sugar pearls starts growing on your head and Grandad is wearing a blue dress that you can hide under! In this way, something completely new is created together between the generations, boundaries are shifted and new connections are created between oneself and others, the old and the new.
In the 30-minute workshops with dance instructor Alina Lucifero on selected dates, participants playfully try out how they can create something new together incorporating the costumes in the room and in which role each individual feels safe. Age-appropriate and creative movement games are played and explored in the group.
Open during the festival from one hour before the start of each performance
After graduating from school in Mönchengladbach, Alina Lucifero studied dance mediation at the Palucca University in Dresden and works as a teacher and choreographer for the Heinrich-Schütz-Konservatorium Dresden. As a freelance dancer, she has worked for Charles Washington/Pinkmetalpetal Productions, the 4rooms Company and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, among others, and has developed her own productions as a choreographer such as ‘Interferenzen’ (2021), ‘Ein halbes Pfund Hoffnung bitte’ (2023) and ‘touching shame’ (2023). In addition to her artistic work, Alina has completed training at the Dance Therapy Centre in Berlin.
Helene Immel is a trained bespoke tailor and costume designer and studied costume design at the Dresden University of Fine Arts. Since graduating, she has been working on costume and stage concepts that add additional plot options and play possibilities to the respective productions. Her work blurs sculptural objects with costumes and props. In ostensibly collective processes, she develops versatile spatial and costume concepts and has already used them in Dresden’s cultural institutions such as the Hole of Fame, the Labortheater, the Evolution sector, the Motorenhalle of riesa efau and various public spaces. In doing so, she always considers the resource-conserving and conscious use of materials. In addition to her freelance work, she has been working as an art educator and outfitter at the Jugendkunstschule Dresden since 2023, where she works with children and young people on design and outfitting projects and supports them in individual, creative processes.
