Dresden Symphony Orchestra & Music e.V.

This concert by the Dresden Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to the young generation. The “New Masters” are members of the children’s orchestra “Musaik”, an initiative of the social music project Musaik – Grenzenlos Musizieren e.V., which has been offering free instrumental and orchestra lessons in Dresden-Prohlis since 2017. Since March, 35 children have been working with composer Andreas Gundlach on a new composition, which is now being premiered together with musicians* of the Dresden Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of the Serbian conductor Premil Petrović, the Dresden Symphony Orchestra will also perform “Shaker Loops” by John Adams, “Musica Celestis” by Aaron Jay Kernis and “Last Round” by the Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov.
