MASS
Dance classes & Dresden Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory
A mass of living beings – of people, of opinions, of perspectives: What characterizes the phenomenon of “mass”? What mechanisms control it and what aggregate states are reached? Why is the whole always more than the sum of its parts?
The Faculty of Dance and the Dresden Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory get to the bottom of these questions in the production “MASSE” and shed light on the topic from different angles: physical, idealistic, abstract and concrete. The audience can expect new perspectives on one of the oldest phenomena in the world in a musical-dance interaction that makes the performers’ attitude to life directly tangible.
Following its successful premiere in 2019, this impressive large-scale project can be experienced at HELLERAU with a new cast and as part of the nationwide Music School Congress 2025.
