Which kinds of possibilities open up when wheelchairs, prostheses, or crutches are understood as extensions of the body and staged as such? Following her production RAVEMACHINE, the Austrian choreographer Doris Uhlich continues to develop her concept of ENERGETIC ICONS further, together with professional and non-professional performers with physical disabilities. Every body has specific ways of articulating its dynamics and joy. The movements themselves enable the body to recharge, becoming a kind of fuel produced by the body itself. EVERY BODY ELECTRIC is a simple but radical invitation to explore potentials in dance. The energetic dancing of people whose bodies do not conform to the norm questions normative restrictions: Who owns the stage and what may be shown there?
