Designers, Dancers, Reformer Women* in the Dresden Hellerau Cosmos

In the current project ‘Auf die Straßen(schilder), fertig, los! Women* in Dresden’s cityscape’, the Frauen*stadtarchiv Dresden is focussing on the lack of representation of women* and their achievements.

In the Hellerau cosmos – from the garden city to the Festspielhaus and the Deutsche Werkstätten – numerous women* were already involved in the realisation of utopia around 1900: Living, art, culture and work were to be interwoven in a contemporary and at the same time natural way in the spirit of the Lebensreform. Together with the speakers Klára Němečková, Gerburg Fuchs, Ines Hommann and Evelyn Schweynoch, the F*SA and HELLERAU would like to follow the traces of these still too unknown women* and present selected biographies in entertaining, illustrated keynote speeches.
