Open Studio: Moving Identities

with ANART (DK) & Las Sistahs (ES)

2024/25 Open Studio Residenz

“Moving Identities” is a three-year residency exchange program for performing artists in six European countries. In March, the collectives ANART from Denmark and Las Sistahs from Spain will be in HELLERAU for a residency and give an insight into their research in a joint open studio.

ANART – consisting of four dancers and a sound artist – campaigns for human rights and democratic values using the universal language of dance. In their artistic research during Moving Identitites, ANART deals with the effects on nature and sustainability in the context of wars, with a focus on the war and the destruction of the environment in Ukraine.

Las Sistahs is a newly founded artist collective from Barcelona that deals with social justice and black feminism. The five artists are directors, writers, actors, performers and choreographers and work in a multidisciplinary way. In their residency project “LAB”, they deal with projections and the exploitation of black women’s bodies and with sisterhood. Working with tenderness and love is the greatest revolution for Las Sistahs.
