WATCH OUT! Festival for Young and Old

Every two years, HELLERAU hosts the “Watch Out! Festival for Young and Old”. The artistic and participatory program is once again aimed at audiences of all ages and presents works by international and local choreographers and stakeholders from urban society. The performances are specifically designed to bring different generations together and make cultural participation possible for everyone. TThe artistic programs are rounded off by the “Art and Encounters” format – an opportunity to meet, participate and engage in conversation before or after the performances at HELLERAU.

In a special cooperation with the TU Dresden, students from the accompanying study program “Theater sehen, denken, spielen” will develop alternative formats for artistic debriefings for Watch Out!. Accompanied by a group of theater makers and mediators – the Geheime Dramaturgische Gesellschaft (Secret Dramaturgical Society) – the students will independently conduct all audience discussions following the performances. During the festival period, they view pieces, observe the festival events, question structures and initiate an exchange with the audience.
