Die weiße Rose (Version from 1967)
Udo Zimmermann
With Zimmermann’s “The White Rose”, the opera class of the Dresden University of Music is setting an example of remembrance of the immeasurable suffering inflicted on countless people under National Socialism. The work, which was premiered in 1967 by the HfM Dresden’s opera studio at the time, has not been performed on stage in this form since.
The production is a rediscovery with material found in the HfM archive and was created with students from the HfM Dresden opera class, the university symphony orchestra, in cooperation with the HfBK Dresden and the Staatsschauspiel Dresden.
