LandesJugendensemble Neueste Musik Sachsen
On 30 March 2025, the soon-to-be five-year-old LandesJugendensemble Neueste Musik Sachsen and its artistic director Elizaveta Birjukova will perform at DtzM for the first time, with performances of compositions by Annette Schlünz, Christian FP Kram and Richard Plate written for this ensemble in 2023 and 2024, as well as original compositions by the young people and improvisations.
The LandesJugendensemble Neueste Musik Sachsen, consisting of 23 children and young people aged 11 to 26 with the unusual line-up of vocals, flutes, strings, electric bass, saxophone, harp, 2x piano, percussion, 2x accordion, founded in 2021 by Elizaveta Birjukova and Agnes Ponizil, enjoys the cooperation with the Saxon Music Council and the Composers’ Association of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt. For the performance at the Dresden Days of Contemporary Music, members of the Ensemble Modern have been recruited as mentors who will accompany the programme for 30 March in a concentrated rehearsal process together with the children and young people.
