Ubac Studio

“Voooooo---Peeeeee---” is a multisensory installation by Ubac Studio from South Korea, which transforms virtual extensions into a physical experience felt by the body. A cinematic VR narrative and a pneumatic ‘Air-Suite’ are synchronised in real time, creating a moving, intimate experience for the audience. The work begins with a CT scan image of the grandmother of the artist Hyeunjoo Woo, whose ageing body has developed unexpected cavities – a black void, a gap between living flesh and its data-based representation. The audience follows a woman whose body has become hollow after being reconstructed from data. Her monologue oscillates between memories and loss in endlessly replicated virtual worlds.

Time slots for interactive exploration using VR headsets and the pneumatic Air-Suite can be booked in advance online and, with a bit of luck, also on the day itself directly at the venue. Visitors without a booking are warmly invited to view the work as an installation free of charge.
