The concert featuring Grand River & Abul Mogard, Myriam Bleau, and other guests is not only another highlight of the HYBRID Biennale 2026 program but also the opening event of the DAVE Festival. DAVE—Dresden Audio Visual Experience—was founded in 2014 and has successfully established itself as a festival and network for electronic music culture, audiovisual art, and interdisciplinary formats. Not least, the fusion of club culture with various forms of artistic expression and venues makes DAVE an exciting project partner for HELLERAU and the HYBRID Biennale.

In 2024, the Dutch-Italian composer and sound designer Aimée Portioli, alias Grand River, and the musician Abul Mogard released “In uno spazio immenso,” their first collaborative album. Released on Caterina Barbieri’s label Light-Years and described by Resident Advisor as “theatrical and emotional ambient with post-punk influences,” the project has been presented live at venues including MUTEK, REWIRE, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, ATONAL in Berlin, and SÓNAR in Barcelona and Istanbul. Dynamic and moving, “In uno spazio immenso” balances on a knife’s edge between booming, operatic grandeur and gentle simplicity, between subtle contours and dense, almost overwhelming textures.

“Hypermobility” by Myriam Bleau is an energetic audiovisual performance that combines dance music with laser projections. Digital synthesis patterns are shaped in space by laser beams, creating moving planes of light above the audience. “Hypermobility” translates dynamics, constant movement, and the compression of space and time into an immersive interplay of sound, light, and energy. This creates a tension between fascination and sensory overload, questioning the effects of an increasingly fast-paced and mobile present.
