AI & Digital Arts – Creativity & Authorship. A collaboration between KI Netzwerk Dresden (Dresden AI Network) and WIR GESTALTEN DRESDEN

Artificial intelligence is transforming the world of art and culture at breakneck speed. Image generators create breathtaking visual worlds in a matter of seconds, music algorithms compose complex melodies, and text-based AI challenges our understanding of authorship. But what does this technological revolution mean for human artistic creation? Do AI tools merely push the boundaries of creativity, or do they fundamentally redefine the concept of art?

Alongside these enormous creative possibilities come pressing legal, ethical and economic questions for the future: Who is considered the creator when humans and machines create together? What does the protection of intellectual property look like in the age of generative models? And what role does artistic work play in a digital future?

As part of the HYBRID Biennale 2026, the KI Netzwerk Dresden invites you to an exciting panel discussion: together with experts, we aim to get to the bottom of these questions, highlight opportunities and critically discuss the challenges.
