Conversing with the Inanimate

In this workshop we will make virtual assistants and chatbots tangible. We will challenge the idea of presenting chatbots/IPAs (intelligent personal assistants) with a human personality, the looks of common ambient computing devices and the often servile characters that come with them. Along the way we will think about analog digital thresholds, create alternate scenarios, interfaces or desirable dialogues and present the results as objects, performance, video and/or installation.
