A conversation about the archaeological approach in Tsuyoshi Tane’s architecture, in which he will reflect on the role of architecture in connecting the past, present and future – moderated by Katharina Christl, Rector of the Palucca University of Dance Dresden, and Rostislav Komitov, research associate at the Chair of Design at TU Dresden.

Tsuyoshi Tane, founder of the Paris-based Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane Architects, is currently involved in a series of architectural projects that link Europe and Japan. His work is based on the concept of the archaeology of the future – a future-orientated architecture that emerges from the memory of a place.

This visionary approach is evident in Tane’s major projects, including the National Museum of Estonia, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Hirosaki, the Al Thani Collection at the Hôtel de la Marine and the urban agriculture project 388 Farm in Shibuya.

As part of the interdisciplinary workshop with students from the Faculty of Architecture at TU Dresden and Master’s students from the Choreography programme at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden in cooperation with HELLERAU, the three institutions invite you to an open discussion round.

Moderation:
Prof. K. Christl, MA Choreography – Palucca University of Dance Dresden
R. Komitov (WMA), Chair of Design Theory – Faculty of Architecture and Landscape, TU Dresden
