SOFT FOCUS
Plan Mee / Eva Borrmann & Arina Essipowitsch
PLAN MEE is a dance company based in Nuremberg, Bavaria. The company is directed by the choreographer and dancer Eva Borrmann.
Soft Focus
Choreographer Eva Borrmann’s dance and theater production “Soft Focus” is dedicated to David Hamilton’s photographs, posing questions about femininity, the body and kitsch. Based on Borrmann’s stage play, photo artist Arina Essipowitsch developed a foldable, life-size photo installation. Essipovich’s folding technique gives it an idiosyncratic performative quality. The result is a constantly changing pictorial space that moves between folding map, puzzle, and memory game. Accompanying the presentation of the installation, the audience receives a folding book that invites them to fold it themselves and transfers the large-scale photo installation as a compressed version into the private space.
