Osmosis

Jugend-Jazzorchester Sachsen & TanzART

2023/24 Musik Tanz Kulturpass

Conceived and directed by Jana Schmück (choreography) and Philipp Rumsch (composition, sound design), around 30 young musicians and dancers are creating a piece that reflects on the way we communicate with each other. In times of multiple crises and the retreat into “opinion bubbles”, the participants use the project to explore ways of coming together again. “Osmosis” creates an exciting exchange between dance and concert, acoustic instrumentation and electronic sounds, as well as encounters between different artistic genres and between audience and artists. Following premieres at WERK2 in Leipzig and the Deutsch-Sorbisches Volkstheater Bautzen, the Jugendjazzorchester Sachsen and TanzART Kirschau will also present the joint and interdisciplinary project “Osmosis” at HELLERAU on February 18.

Duration: ca. 1 h 30 min without a break
Without language

Family ticket: 37 €

Please note: There will be photos and videos made during the performance.

The Saxony Youth Jazz Orchestra has been bringing together the state’s most talented young jazz musicians in a big band since 1993. The band comes together twice a year to rehearse intensively for a week under changing artistic directors and then perform on stages large and small. TanzART is one of the most important institutions for artistic dance in East Saxony. In addition to its own productions, residency programs and international exchange projects, TanzART works intensively with the population of Kirschau and the surrounding area.
