go plastic company
The new work of go plastic company is a bittersweet and sadly joyful multimedia, walk-through and interactive solo dance performance, tending to be slow, padded, resounding in minor key, characterized by dark hues and pensive discourses. go plastic explores different forms of emotional practice and emotional culture and develops artistic positions on the state of mind of melancholy. Using the motif of “being in-between”, the collective explores this elusive but very poignant emotion in the prism of philosophy, art, aesthetics, sociology, pop culture, psychology, medicine and theology. Melancholy experts from these fields are invited to share their views and experiences in the form of artistic contributions and interviews.
MELANCHOLIC MARATHON is the second piece by go plastic that deals intensively with feelings, after the piece “mind the rage”, which dealt with anger. The movement research, choreography and performance are co-authored and realized by Cindy Hammer (artistic co-directorgo plastic) and Momo Fabienne Tanner (dancer). The accompanying team consists of Susan Schubert (dramaturgy/mediation), Stephan Tautz (artwork, mediation), Benjamin Schindler (video/artistic documentation), ZWEATLANA (music/composition/performance), Benjamin Henrichs & Martin Mulik (light design) and Christian Rätsch (set design/stage). Integrated audio description and tactile guidance are also components of the evening.

The go plastic company is a free, interdisciplinary collective working regionally, nationally and internationally in various partnerships. go plastic was awarded the Arras Prize (2013) and the Dresden Art and Science Prize (2017). In 2020, the company received the RELOAD research grant from the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the TANZPAKT reconnect structural grant (2021-23) from Bureau Ritter.
