The sudden death of Claudia Reichardt last year left us all stunned for a few weeks. Everyone thought they would see her again in the next few weeks or receive a message from her. Many friends, authors, artists and cultural workers from Dresden and beyond were among the mourners last autumn.
Wanda’s work and creativity in the Villa Marie, in the HfBK Dresden, in the Festspielhaus in Hellerau, as a freelance curator, but also as a long-standing member of the cultural advisory board as well as the specialist working group on visual arts in the state capital Dresden made her an integral part of the Dresden scene. Claudia Reichardt united around her very different artists, people of the most diverse genres, and hardly anyone knows what Wanda used to know about the art scene in Dresden and beyond.
Wanda’s heartfelt wish was to celebrate her 60th birthday, which would have been on 8 January 2022, at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts. We thank the City of Dresden for supporting this wish and would like to invite you to the commemoration “In Memoriam Wanda” on Tuesday, 3 May 2022, from 3 pm at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts, Dresden.
The programme is to start at 3 pm in the Nancy Spero Hall in the Festspielhaus with a “KITSCH-Kaffee-Klatsch”.
At 4:30 p.m. we will look back on Wanda’s work and activities with speeches.
Afterwards, from 6 p.m., everyone is cordially invited to stay in Hellerau for a get-together at their own expense.
In order to plan the size of the event, we ask for informal feedback of your participation by 15 April 2022 to the following e-mail address:
