In this workshop, participants will experiment with an introduction to understanding the body in relation to ‘What constitutes a home?’ Connecting the body’s senses and performance tools with urban spaces to find ways to address ‘Trans(inter)national migration. Home is the base where everything begins.
Throughout our lives, people attach labels to us, which reflect and affect how others think about our identities and how we think about ourselves. Labels are not always negative; they can reflect positive characteristics, set useful expectations, and provide meaningful goals in our lives. Often, however, the labels we use to describe each other result from unfounded assumptions and stereotypes.
This workshop is a gentle yet physical workshop that explores the human senses of the body. Creative writing with the body and play. Participants will also explore working with intuition, observing the obvious, and making it all up through improvisation.
Duration: ca. 2 Std.
Practical for participants
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes to move and dance in, and to bring a bottle of water and something to write on and with.

Kieron Jina (Johannesburg, ZA / Berlin, DE) is a nomadic non-binary professional troublemaker. As a multidisciplinary artist and facilitator/researcher of creative processes, they work in the realms of performance art, visual art, theatre-making, and conscious DJing. Influenced by Afrofuturism, migration, climate, gender affirmations, new technology, or Indigenous cultural practices, they ask: How can art generate empathy by harnessing certain intimacies and vulnerabilities? Don’t ask me where am I from but rather ask me where am I local.
