CIVILISATION by Jaz Woodcock-Stewart in collaboration with Morgann Runacre-Temple.
A day in the life of a young woman whose life has just gone off the rails. Director Jaz Woodcock-Stewart tells in an amazingly poetic, playful and direct way about an emotional state of emergency for which there are no words at first. With her artistic collaborators, the actress Sophie Steer, who performs a monologue almost without words, and three dancers who open up a parallel universe of the unspoken, the result is an approach to a great disturbance that is as gentle, humorous as it is compelling, and an evening of theatre that will stay with you for a while.

11 – 14.11.2021 FAST FORWARD – European Festival for Young Directors
Every year Fast Forward presents young theatre from all over Europe on four days in November. The festival of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden has long since become a European address for discoveries and a place for encounters and exchanges about themes, theatre forms and working methods. An international jury awards a prize on the last day of the festival, which means an invitation to a new work at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden for the winning directing team. In 2020, due to the pandemic, Fast Forward was planned as a “hybrid” for the first time, with a programme part on site and one online. And in 2021, the festival will once again take a two-track approach and offer young European theatre talent a stage both in Dresden and digitally. Eight European productions, the Studio Beisel website including performance, talks, chats, parties and much more will bring colour into November. And HELLERAU is once again a cooperation partner.
