Soulful warmth paired with groovy vibes

After 6 years in the city, Teeya Lamée, who now feels like a “half-Lipziger”, officially started her project this year. The artist has been making music since early musical education and the “Spatzenchor” – but when she first encountered her genre of alternative R’n’B/neo-soul in 2018, she was completely hooked.

She has now been releasing her own music since 2022. A field of tension between soulful warmth, into which one would prefer to sink – very slowly, back first – and groovy vibes to which one sometimes wants to nod one’s head along in euphoria.

Her lyrics range from everyday encounters to very personal topics – as most recently in her debut single released in May. In “no matter where i touch” it’s about the unsubstantiated feeling of not feeling oneself. Musically, the collapse that occurs at such a moment and that seems to pull the rug out from under you is symbolised again and again. Real topics, even supposedly unpleasant topics like mental health, are an aspect she wants to stand for with her music.

Teeya Lamée names a variety of artists as influences, with Tom Misch, Lianne La Havas, Jaz Karis, Jorja Smith and Lauryn Hill as some examples.
