Eva Urbanová
January – February 2025
The choreographer and dancer Eva Urbanová has been invited to HELLERAU for a residency as part of the festival ‘Nebenan – Independent Art from Slovakia’. During this time, she will be working together with dancer Giorgia Scisciola on her new project ‘OUR PRACTICES’.
‘OUR PRACTICES’ explores touch, sensitivity, connection, witchcraft and community. The performance is planned as a journey for three dancers and explores the power and challenges of heightened sensitivity. Based on the archetype of the witch, the dancers navigate through their sensitivity as a superpower. Eva Urbanová works with touch, imagination and breath awareness. A central goal is to heal the ‘witch wound’, the collective trauma of the persecution of those with extraordinary knowledge and sensitivity.
08.02.2025 there will be a joint Open Studio with director and performer Petra Fornayová and Eva Urbanová, who will share their research process.
In cooperation with Telocvičňa – Dance Residency Centre
