In HELLERAU the musician Christine Börsch-Supan is working on the development of the sound installation “The Ritual Within”. Starting from rituals and ritual music of different traditions and cultures, she comes to herself and her own reference and desire for rituality. She examines her own rituals – somatic meditations and vocal practices – and makes them the basis of her compositions. “The Ritual Within” aims to create a space that connects an autonomous sound world with the universal experience of a ritual: the feeling of being lifted up, of belonging and of meaningfulness.
