During her residency in HELLERAU, artist Britt Hatzius – based on Krishna Washburn’s expertise as a blind professional ballet dancer and dance teacher – explores individual experiences of body and movement from the inside out: audio-description serves here as a guide to a body experience without (pre-)images. A specially installed immersive sound system becomes the performative framework for the play with ‘liveness’.
Britt Hatzius (DE/UK) works in the fields of film, video, sound and performance. She met Krishna Washburn (USA) during her work with Vision Inclusive, a non-profit organization that promotes collaboration between people with and without impairments.
