HELLERAUmoves: Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan
All Levels: with Ms. LEE Ching-chun and Mr. HUANG Lu-kai
Senior dancers of the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan will lead this masterclass and will employ some of Cloud Gate’s training principles. These include internal martial arts and Qi Gong (an ancient form of breathing exercise) combined with contemporary elements, accessing meditative aspects of movement.
The workshop will be conducted by Ms. LEE Ching-chun, Cloud Gate’s Associate Artistic Director and Mr. HUANG Lu-kai, one of Cloud Gate’s senior dancers.

Cloud Gate was founded by internationally renowned choreographer LIN Hwai-min in Taipei (Taiwan) in 1973 and was the first contemporary dance ensemble in the greater Chinese-speaking community. Artistic Director CHENG Tsung-lung has led the company since 2020. According to many critics, Cloud Gate continues to be one of the best dance companies in the world. It is particularly known for its technically perfect combination of Western dance techniques with Asian movement traditions from Qi Gong, meditation, and internal Martial arts.
