Dance in Hellerau in the 90s
The panel looks at the beginnings of contemporary dance at the Festspielhaus Hellerau and other locations in East Germany. How did choreographers and dance companies experience the Festspielhaus and its grounds as a choreographic space for their respective art and what inspiration did this place mean to them? Dresden dance protagonists such as Isolde Matkey and Katja Erfurth, artists such as Irina Pauls, who were guests at HELLERAU in the 1990s and realized similar founding processes in their own cities, and Patrick Primavesi from the Leipzig Dance Archive are invited.
The discussion will be moderated by Katharina Christl, Rector of the Palucca University of Dance Dresden.
