Floor on Fire

Breakdance takes on ballet, street style meets contemporary and hip-hop competes with pointe dancing. The innovative dance format by The Saxonz in cooperation with HELLERAU is back on the program.

“Floor on Fire” thrives on the individuality of the dancers, their virtuosity and their unlimited creativity. At first, it looks like a competition between the individual dance styles. Then mixed dance teams are formed, which spontaneously present their joint skills on the dance floor. The dancers alternate in trying to outdo their opponents with their own performance. Without following a choreography, the dancers show the different facets of their respective dance styles with great fun and enthusiasm. At the end, a jury with audience participation decides on the best team – an experience for dancers and audience alike!

The Saxonz, the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, the go plastic company and other performers from ballet, breakdance, contemporary dance and urban dance will be taking part.
