Nazanin Hafez

The Iranian visual artist Nazanin Hafez is in residence in HELLERAU through PORTRAITS – Hellerau Photography Award and is researching the political and social contexts and memories of the GDR and Iran.
In her artistic work, Nazanin Hafez critically examines social and political grievances, in particular the effects of the repressive regime in Iran. She uses a variety of media, from photography and collage to video and installation. Her internationally exhibited works have been awarded several prizes and scholarships.
