Reason NOW!: Kalina Dębska & Maria Gustowska

Kalina Dębska & Maria Gustowska are students at the National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow and have been working as a creative duo since 2022. Their joint works explore the relationship between actor and audience, drawing on the aesthetics of comedy, asking the question of what we can and should laugh at. On December 13, Kalina Dębska was accused of stealing the idea for a performance they created together at Stary Theatre in Krakow. A wave of hateful, emotional comments and accusations about her spread across the Internet. During the residency Kalina Dębska & Maria Gustowska work with these experiences within the project “The Revolution calls out their own children” which will be focused on call-out culture.
