Dienstagssalon with Max Rademann and Pauline Réage
Line-up: Anne Munka, Olga Reznichenko, Robert Lucaciu, Maximilian Breu
Progressive rock, modern jazz, freeplay and radio play – the quartet Pauline Réage moves between different genres with great joy in performing and improvisational potential. The music is mainly determined by the lyrics, which are set in a contemporary and relevant jazz context.
As a singer and composer, band leader Anne Munka not only plays with different genres such as sound poetry, jazz and sound installation, but also explores the connections between different musical genres. In spring 2022, she founded the quartet Pauline Réage with jazz pianist Olga Reznichenko. The playing attitude and improvisational potential of the music are shaped by the musical roots and preferences of the band members. The four unconventional musicians move between progressive rock, modern jazz, freeplay and radio play. The shape of the compositions in this diverse mixture is primarily determined by the lyrics. Munka uses beat poetry, political poetry and scientific essays, but also folk-like song forms and original sounds to place so-called song lyrics in a contemporary and relevant jazz context.
