Janne Gregor
February 2024
What happens when memory and future(s) meet? What do children and senior citizens have to tell each other? Are there things that the elderly would rather not have known or that the young don't even want to learn?
The choreographer and performer Janne Gregor uses intergenerational dialogue and play formats to create a platform that enables an interactive exchange. She invites people to develop personal city tours, show their own favourite places, draw portraits of each other and play Scrabble. She creates space and time for encounters that are rare in everyday life, even if they seem obvious.
During her residency at HELLERAU, Janne Gregor worked on this platform for two distant generations, which serves as the basis for developing a public, repeatable artistic encounter format, a mixture of a "living library" and a "thing show".
