When we play, anything is possible: the floor is made of lava, objects fly through the air, and everyday items take on entirely new meanings. A stool becomes a raft, a bridge, a house, a tower. It stands on its head, lies on its side, stands on its feet… From an almost endless range of possibilities, new worlds emerge through play – each with its own set of rules, constantly shifting, expanding, being discarded.
But how does one game lead to the next? Who decides how things continue? Who makes the rules, and how do you make the best decision? And what happens when someone doesn't want to play along?
Three dancers immerse themselves in the “Spiel im Spiel” (game within a game): what was just a hat becomes a life-saving island in a stormy sea. Where the floor was just untouchable, a giant worm now crawls across the stage. Someone who was just small becomes gigantic, flexing their muscles. Those who were arguing a moment ago now dance in perfect harmony.
“Spiel im Spiel” is a choreographic exploration of the possibilities that lie in play – and an invitation to actively shape them.

Ceren Oran is a dancer and choreographer in Munich. She sees dance not only as an art form, but also as a form of communication. Her works are characterised by immediacy and always seek direct contact with the audience. With great interest in a young audience, she develops poetic pieces that are dedicated to the big and small questions of life without giving simple answers - rather, they encourage reflection and questioning. Thematically, she deals with identity, home and the fast pace of our society.
Moving Borders was founded by Ceren Oran, Karolína Hejnová and a core collective of artists with the conviction that contemporary dance as an art form and as a practice can and should be accessible to everyone. With this in mind, the company's creative work focuses on performances in public spaces, dance for young audiences, durational performances and many other performance formats for encounters with the audience. in 2025, the company was honoured for the second time with a three-year option grant from the City of Munich.
