To round off the day, the doors will open for music, drinks, conversations and surprising interventions by artists from the Saxon dance and performance scene: contributions that leave the classical stage behind and conquer new spaces as installations, site-specific, durational or drag performances.

Becky & Marty: “Stars Rise“ - an artistic research

Becky and Marty ** performing together for the first time ** don't miss it! After conducting research in private living rooms, state archives and secret document cellars, the two provide insight into their search for traces of drag and queer subculture in the GDR – entertaining, historically inaccurate and artistically precise as ever!

Felix Chang: Excerpts from “WÚ | YĪ 無 壹“

A dance performance about public loneliness and the story of Shih Ru-Zhen, who lived in hiding for 18 years under suspicion of espionage during Taiwan's White Terror. Through movement and the play with space, the performance conveys the power of freedom, the burden of memory and the resilience of the human spirit.

Ildikó Tóth: Ausschnitte aus “AKÓMI“

Ildikó combines movement research with human perception. She develops improvisational scores that weave sound and light into a sensitive spatial structure. Dance thereby becomes a form of collective experience – beyond explicit narratives. The audience is invited to let go of interpretation and engage directly with the moment, the movement and their own resonance.

Jack Bannerman: “Choreographic Studies“

An interactive installation in which two dancers perform from separate studios and their live streams are shown side by side on a projection screen. Visitors enter commands into a central laptop and send real-time instructions to both performers, who interpret the prompts in their own way.

Rika Yotsumoto & Kevin Albancando Tuntaquimba: “Hug On The Moon“

Two people move through the theatre space, slowly, almost gliding, steadily... until they finally find each other. Yotsumoto and Albancando Tuntaquimba work between contemporary dance and the funk styles of waving and popping, exploring the narration of personal stories and experiences of migrant identity.

Svea Duwe: “BREATHING“ – a happening

Score: Materialise your breath by sealing it in plastic bags for one minute. Notice the mass created by your breath and the breath objects of others in the room. Create structures. The only thing that is forbidden is destruction. ‘BREATHING’ is a choreographed construction site for everyone in the room.

tanzART.company: Excerpts from ‘Metamorphosis III’

The tanzART.company works from the philosophy of encounter. The focus is on researching relationships with others and between performers and audiences: How do closeness, resonance and exchange arise? The production uses everyday and communal spaces to make dance an immediate experience.

The evening was curated by a jury of experts, and the overall dramaturgical composition was designed by TanzNetzDresden.

A collaboration between HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts, Landesverband der Freien Theater Sachsen (State Association of Independent Theaters in Saxony), Societaetstheater Dresden, TanzNetzDresden, and Villa Wigman e.V. as part of Tanzplattform Deutschland 2026.
