Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger

“KA-IN”, the new production by the Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger, combines Moroccan acrobatic traditions with urban forms of movement such as parkour and breakdance. In their home city of Tangier, on the threshold between two continents and two seas, different realities of life, languages and cultures come together. In the choreography by French director Raphaëlle Boitel, the thirteen-member ensemble explores in impressive images what it means to live between these worlds - physically, emotionally and culturally. With breathtaking physicality, lightness and humour, a performance is created that interweaves tradition and the present, circus art and dance, collective energy and individual longing. “KA-IN” shows the popular as a unifying energy, as a language that remains understandable across cultural boundaries.
