On 30 October, the Czech Orchestr BERG, one of the leading international ensembles for contemporary music, will open the 27th Czech-German Culture Days. Inspired by the famous composition "In C" by the American minimalist Terry Riley, BERG, together with composer Tomáš Reindl, choreographer Sylva Šafková and the dance company 420PEOPLE, developed the project "INspiraCe" - an energetic concert performance that combines minimalism, beatbox, dubstep and contemporary dance with an impressive light sculpture.
Breath is a central element of the performance. Šafková thus picks up on one of the original meanings of the word "inspiration". The deliberate use of capital letters in the title also refers to the influence of Riley's composition.
Since 2007, 420PEOPLE has stood for contemporary dance at the highest level - characterised by professionalism, originality, playful reflection and artistic courage. The company is just as present on stage as it is in dance films and online streams.
Specialising in contemporary music, Orchestr BERG has premiered almost 300 works since its foundation, mainly by young Czech composers. It often combines music with other art forms such as dance, theatre, visual arts and film. The orchestra is also a pioneer in presenting new music outside of classical concert halls - for example in industrial buildings or even in an under construction metro station in Prague.
An event organised by the Czech-German Cultural Days 2025 in cooperation with HELLERAU. Tickets available via the Czech-German Cultural Days

Biographies
420PEOPLE is a collective of artists that stands for exceptional performance quality and the highest level of professionalism. Their pieces are characterised by playfulness and courage and bring a rich vocabulary of contemporary dance to the stage. Improvisation is just as much a matter of course as open dialogue with the audience - for example in the form of post-performance discussions. At the centre of 420PEOPLE are Václav Kuneš and his artistic companions from various disciplines, who realise their vision and create works that are associated with the label "Made by Czech", but at the same time form proud and indispensable components of the international dance scene.
Orchestr BERG is dedicated to promoting new music and attracting new audiences. It combines sounds with other art forms such as dance, theatre or film and is always on the lookout for unusual performance venues - such as a future underground station or a former sewage treatment plant. It has already premiered over two hundred works by young Czech composers, as well as numerous Czech premieres by international greats such as Heiner Goebbels, Fausto Romitelli and György Ligeti. In addition to concerts, the ensemble develops new formats such as soundwalks and educational projects for all generations. It cooperates with important artists and institutions, including the National Theatre Prague and Czech Radio. In 2021, the orchestra received the prestigious Prix Italia for the imaginative "Music for Sirens".
