As part of an open call entitled “Futureproofing Connection,” the ZKM | Hertzlab, the Arts Council Korea (ARKO), and HELLERAU have selected three international artists to develop new projects in the field of contemporary sound research and immersion, which will be produced and presented in Karlsruhe and HELLERAU.
Korean artist Philip Liu is creating an archive of acoustic memory through the interplay of sound and architecture. Anastasia Koroleva (Moscow/London) transforms spaces into labyrinths of digital social networks with the help of hyperdirectional “sound lasers.” The interactive voice installation by L.A.-raised artist Rania Kim Birch (Portrait XO) uses AI-cloned voices to blur the line between subject and algorithm.
